Due to budget issues and low staffing, hours will be reduced at the Arnold and Murphys Branch Libraries.

New Hours as of August 17th: 

Arnold Library: Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., and Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Murphys Library: Tuesday-Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Our newly redesigned Children’s Area is officially ready for fun! We’re excited to celebrate its grand opening with a special Storytime Launch Event. This was made possible in part by a generous grant from the Calaveras Community Foundation.

Celebrate our annual Pokémon Day at the library with activities like coloring, crafts, a photo booth, pin trading, a Bulbasaur hunt, and a memory game. Watch the Ultimate TCG Tournament Showdown, enter a prize raffle, and receive free cards, stickers, and snacks. All trainers are welcome to join in the fun!

We are very sorry to announce that, due to state budget issues, the ZIP Books Program is no longer being funded, and therefore cannot continue. We have spent all the funding allocated for our 2025/2026 grant and will not be able to fulfill any additional requests, including those that have been submitted but have not yet been purchased. We apologize for this unexpected news.
